Meet Nichole and Simon, otherwise known as Nic and Si. Once upon a time, Nichole packed her bags and went looking for adventure. She moved to Australia where she met Simon, who is from Wales. He was signing at the famous Sydney Opera House. As Nichole tells it, “a gay friend of hers wrote a profile for her for an online dating service in 2012 and this is how they met.” She is so glad her friend talked her into it. Nic and Si are a perfect match. They both love Doctor Who, games, traveling, and adventure - hence their Doctor Who wedding at the Farmhouse in Delaware. Simon proposed at Yosemite, I mean how perfect is that!!!
We began our day with them getting ready at the Hotel Dupont and did a super sweet first look across the street from the hotel. Just look at Simon’s reaction, Love it!! Their love for each other is just so obvious and sweet.
Their wedding party loaded up onto a school bus and then we headed over to the Constitution Yards Beer Garden for some fun wedding party photos. Thanks to the crew there who let us in a few minutes before they opened so we had the place to ourselves and then got the crew some beers! You can tell how much fun we had. The weather was cloudy but was just a beautiful temperature. And we like photographing on cloudy days way better than bright sun actually.
Their ceremony and Reception at the Farmhouse was perfect! Such a great venue and the couple made so many awesome decorations and signs. Their attention to details was so obvious and it was a great way to have a wedding with a theme without being over the top! Love LOVE their cat decorations and having a compass for your seat info was brilliant! Also, their Katubah was the BEST EVER!!! It was custom made and filled with so many icons that symbolized their life together. Can you find the Tardis? Karen from Life of the Party did a Fantastic job coordinating this wedding and making sure all the decorations were in place.
During the ceremony, the couple shared jokes and tender moments. The two flower girls were Adorable and certainly stole the show as they came down the aisle! They had the perfect size wedding party, 3 on each side (Nichole’s MOH was the first woman in combat and is gay! She was so awesome and certainly an inspiration.) They had about 80 guests which was a great size and the couple could spend their reception dancing and hanging out with family and friends that came from all over the world.
