It was such a treat to photograph Madison & Adam’s inspiring Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts wedding. What a stunning venue for photos and ceremony and reception. Their spring wedding was blessed with sunshine and we were able to do their sweet “first look” outside of PAFA, then wander through the galleries of the Art Museum for their couples portraits. The day flowed beautifully. Their ceremony was followed by dinner and dancing and lots of love. What a truly joy-filled celebration. I chatted with Madison to hear a little bit about their love story that brought them to their amazing Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts wedding and here is what she shared: How did you meet? I was at a bar on U street in DC and ran into my friend Joel from Penn State who was in town visiting his friend from high school, Adam. Adam and I started talking, I invited him to a sketchy techo bar with some friends, exchanged numbers and the rest is history….it also turned out we had a lot of friends in common When did you know he was “the one”? Our real answer to this is probably not shareable……. the shareable answer is that for me that to be honest, I knew on our first date, not obviously but I had a feeling; for Adam, it was on our California trip before I left for graduate school; or when we were fighting about politics How did he propose? One night on East Capitol street by the US Capitol, I had talked our way passed the two other spots he was considering and it was the last romantic spot before we got to dinner with our parents. Tell me about a pivotal point in your relationship? We broke up once, because we weren’t communicating. Six months later, we hosted a passover dinner together (as ex’s…..not advice I would give people btw); and then got back together and discussed what had gone wrong in round 1…. round two was much stronger because of it (still going strong) Wedding Vendors: Wedding Venue:Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts Getting ready: Le Meridien DJ: DJ Freez Flowers:Beautiful Blooms Dress: grandmothers dress for the ceremony and a BHLDN for the reception Hair: Bella Angel Make-up: Bella Angel Caterer: Jimmy Duffy Catering Coordinator: Alexandria Phillips
