signature cocktail #tastetest
Whip up and sample a new seasonal craft cocktail with us each week with so you're super informed when choosing your signature drink. 'Cause someone's gotta do it.
Via The Spruce Eats
leaves from 4-5 mint sprigs + 1 sprig for garnish
2 sugar cubes or 1/2 ounce simple syrup
2 1/2 ounces bourbon whiskey
Gently Muddle the mint leaves and sugar (or simple syrup) in the bottom of a julep cup or glass to dissolve the sugar and release the oil and aroma of the mint. Add the bourbon. Fill the glass with crushed ice and stir well until the glass is frosty. Garnish with a mint sprig and add a straw.
Our thoughts: In honor of the Kentucky Derby this weekend, we just had to do it! Impress your friends with your fancy Mint Julep making skills while secretly pulling off a bit of signature drink recon. This cocktail is refreshing and can go down fast, but it's also strong so drink it accordingly. P.S. Swap out the bourbon for mezcal if you want to bring a little Cinco de Mayo to the fiesta. Cheers!🥂
