signature cocktail #tastetest
Whip up and sample a new seasonal craft cocktail with us each week with so you're super informed when choosing your signature drink. 'Cause someone's gotta do it.
photo: Just a Little Bit of Bacon
1 1/2 ounces tequila blanco
1/2 ripe peach (or 1 ounce peach schnapps if you're in a bind)
1/2 ounce triple sec
juice of 1 lime
zest of one lime
1/2 tsp sugar + more for the rim
For the sugar rim: Combine the lime zest with enough sugar to cover a small plate in a thin layer. Rub the rim of the glass with water or a fresh lime, then turn the glass over on the plate of sugar to coat. For the cocktail: Peel and pit the peach and muddle it in the bottom of a cocktail shaker with the sugar. Add the tequila, triple sec, lime juice and some ice to the cocktail shaker, shake well, and strain into the sugar-rimmed glass. Garnish with a lime or peach slice (or both).
Our thoughts: With national tequila day happening next week and peach season in full swing, this weekend is a great time to #tastetest one of our favorite summer cocktails - the peach margarita. We've had it both with fresh peaches and with peach schnapps and while both are good, go fresh if you can. We're suckers for any cocktail that includes fresh seasonal fruit, plus fresh peaches...👌

The Brides Project
Once the big day is over, chances are your wedding dress will end up in the back of a closet somewhere. Donating your dress after your wedding is a great way to reclaim some closet space while giving your gown a new life and supporting a worthy cause.
One noteworthy option is The Brides Project, a fundraising initiative of the Cancer Support Community, that takes gently used and brand new gowns and gives them a new home.
All proceeds from dress sales go towards support groups, counseling services, educational workshops, nutrition classes, stress management, and other services for individuals and families touched by cancer. One resold dress can provide a workshop that empowers through knowledge, two dresses can help a child who has a parent affected by cancer.
